Public Hearings on 750 kV Zaporizka NPP – Kakhovska Transmission Line Project 28 September 2009 printer friendly

PUBLIC NOTICE

 

State Enterprise “National Power Company “Ukrenergo

is planning to build a 750 kV electricity transmission line between Energodar and Nova Kakhovka, including the construction of a new substation 750/330 kV near Nova Kakhovka town and two additional 330 kV transmission lines connecting the new substation in Nova Kakhovka with the national electricity grid (overall referred to as 750 kV Zaporizka-Kakhovska TL Project, hereinafter the Project) with financial support from International Financial Institutions.

The 750kV Transmission Line (TL) has a length of 190 km connecting the Zaporiszka Nuclear Power Plant with the new Kakhovska substation (750 kV Zaporiszka NPP - Kakhovska TL). The two 330 kV diversion lines include a 28 km diversion connecting Kakhovska Substation with the electrical grid running south-eastwards (diversion of 330 kV NovokakhovskaOstrovska TL) and a 17 km diversion connecting Kakhovska Substation with the electrical grid running northwards crossing River Dniepr (diversion of                330 kV NovokakhovskaKhersonska TL).

On 4 August 2009 the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Draft Report was published at EBRD and Ukrenergo web-sites. After that according to the EBRD’s Environmental and Social Policy there is 120-days period for public comments and remarks. The ESIA Final Report will be prepared taking into account the above-mentioned remarks. Within 120-days disclosure period Ukrenergo will be holding public hearing meetings in order to discuss the findings of the ESIA Draft Report with the public and provide an additional chance for open discussions and clarifications between the public, Stakeholders and the Project team. In addition to the comments that can be provided at the above public hearing meetings, please feel free to submit your written comments and suggestions on the results of the ESIA via email also to office@nec.energy.gov.ua. They will be reviewed and taken into account during finalization of the ESIA Report.
